Europe uncharted

Escape with Victor to destinations off the beaten track this summer. Basque Country

Go to the source of celebrated Spanish cuisine. Marvel at the spectacular Frank Gehry design of the Marqués de Riscal hotel, which looks out over the region’s bodegas, and sample the restaurants of San Sebastián. Choose between La Fabrica for excellent traditional cuisine, loved by the locals, and Arzac, the innovative eatery that has transformed the classic into the contemporary – earning three Michelin stars in the process.

Saint Tropez, France

Take a short walk out of St.Tropez village, along the Sentier du Littoral to the peaceful Plage des Graniers. Folded in wooded hills, the charming beach is the perfect place to escape for the afternoon.  Or visit the Old Village where ochre streets offer a vibrant combination of local stores and cosmopolitan fashion boutiques.

Ravello, Italy

Sit back, drink in the view and listen to some of the world’s finest musicians at the Ravello Festival. Porto Montenegro

Set sail on the dramatically beautiful calm, clear water of the Bay of Kotor, the largest natural harbour in the eastern Mediterranean. The bay is surrounded by beautiful Italian architecture, a reminder of the area’s 400 years under Venetian rule. The new port has been developed to accommodate superyachts upto 250m.

Grosetto, Italy

If medieval hilltop villages and plates of pasta are your style, make for Grosetto and the Tuscan countryside this summer. Golfers will be keen to visit the Castiglion del Bosco, Italy’s only private club and set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site to boot.

Porto Cervo
