Our new charitable initiative Victor Champions launched earlier this month in partnership with superstar American Footballer Reggie Bush and came away truly victorious….
Victor Champions is a special philanthropic platform to do more in the sky – engaging with exclusive brands, non-profit organisations and Victor members through everything from powerful travel experiences around global charitable events to tailored donor programs. The initiative recently partnered with the annual Reggie Bush Charity Weekend in California and helped raise nearly $100,000 for amazing causes benefitting local youth.
Victor flew Reggie and his sports star friends between the weekend’s key events, all alongside Victor ‘donors’ and fans. The Association of Volleyball Professionals’ (AVP) premier tournament, the Manhattan Beach Open, was a particular highlight, Reggie hosting a brilliantly fun celebrity contest on the Friday featuring fellow football talents Joique Bell, Golden Tate III, Lance Moore and Kendall Gaskins. Victor ‘donors’ got to watch from the VIP Skybox over Stadium Court, and generally embrace the sunshine beach lifestyle with music, food, and other colourful entertainment.
Next up, Reggie’s all-star group jetted with Victor to San Diego, celebrating in style at the official ‘kick-off’ party at Parq nightclub. With only a few hours to rally and prep, they were swiftly on to the Del Mar Country Club in nearby Rancho Sante Fe the (Saturday) morning after for an epic celeb charity golf tournament fronted by a who’s who of NFL and NBA sporting heroes. Bush, Johnson Jr, Tate III and Moore joined fellow stadium and arena giants including Nate Burleson, Pierre Thomas, Ronnie Lott and Marcus Allen for 18 truly exceptional holes of swing and putt.
The real winner here is Bush’s 619 Charitable Fund, of course! All in all, the Fund generated an impressive $100,000 from the weekend’s full round of activities, which also included a live fundraising auction of unique lots ranging from diamond drop earrings to luxury holidays on secret Fijian islands.
Reggie Bush founded the organisation in 2010 to support causes directly benefitting today’s youth and has already done much to nurture their potential by encouraging positive social change in their families, communities and local environments. This year, the 619 Charitable Fund is directing its Charity Weekend earnings towards St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an unparalleled institution for finding cures to deadly diseases and treating sick children, and The Birthday Party Project, which brings joy to homeless children through the magic of birthdays. Two fantastic causes and Victor is proud to have played its part for both of them. It’s been an absolute blast.
