Andermatt | Switzerland
Best for: spa treatments
Long overshadowed by its more famous neighbours, Andermatt has recently come into its own as a ski destination thanks to greater accessibility to the mountains from the resort. While you are there be sure to check out The Chedi Hotel, which combines Alpine luxury with Asian flair, boasts a best-in-class spa and wellness centre that you’ll find hard to leave.
Andorra | Andorra
Best for: winter sports
Sandwiched in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, this charming independent principality is small in size but big on snow. With 300km of slopes across 65 peaks above 2,000m, great skiing conditions are almost guaranteed: the winter sports culture here is well-developed, making it the perfect place for anyone who wants to spend all day exploring the mountains.
Lech | Austria
Best for: luxury lounging
The glittering jewel in the Austrian ski-destination crown, this former farming village offers plenty of extra-curricular action. Take part in cross-country skiing, curling and sleigh rides before enjoying the fine dining and shopping scene (serious skiers in your party can head over to St Anton, which has been linked by a lift since 2016/17).
