Gulfstream Unveils New Business Jet Family

Earlier this month, in front of an audience of 3,000 people at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation’s HQ in Savannah, Georgia USA, the aircraft builder revealed two all new business jets – the G500 and G600.

The very first G500 taxied out on to the runway under its own power, while shortly afterwards the 70ft (21 metre) fuselage of the G600 was unveiled.

Both aircraft are due to enter service in 2018 and 2019 respectively, to optimise speed, wide-cabin comfort and fuel efficiency offering customers best-in-class performance with advanced safety features.

The G500 is able to fly 5,000 nautical miles (9,260km) at Mach 0.85 or 3,800nm (7,038km) at Mach 0.90. whereas the G600 is capable of travelling 6,200 nm (11,482km) at Mach 0.85 or 4,800nm (8,890km) at Mach 0.90.

The maximum operating speed for both aircraft is Mach 0.925 (700mph / 1,133kph), the same speed as Gulfstream’s G650 and G650ER.

Built for both comfort and speed, the finished cabin of each aircraft will provide wide-cabin comfort with considerable head and shoulder room for passengers.

According to Gulfstream the cabins will be the quietest in the industry, thus providing an ideal environment for work-related discussion or social conversation. Both aircraft are designed with large oval windows, the same size as those on the existing G650, allowing natural light to pour into the cabins.

Carrying up to 19 passengers each, the G500 boasts three living areas, and the G600 will enjoy up to four as well as an optional crew rest area.

Victor will be monitoring the first aircraft to arrive on the charter market so watch this space, but if you want to experience the Gulfstream lifestyle right away, we already have access to a number of existing Gulfstream aircraft.
